Can you believe it’s already back-to-school season? I’m feeling a little nostalgic — summer seemed to fly by — but I’m also excited for cooler days and all the cozy cooking ahead.

Fall is my favorite time for baking and dinner planning. Warm spices, comforting meals, and kitchen projects that fill the house with good smells — I can’t wait. That said, September’s menu balances easy end-of-summer dinners with gentle nods to autumn, so you won’t have to trade convenience for comfort as routines start up again.
Use the full menu, follow one week at a time, or pick and choose the meals that fit your family’s schedule — I actually encourage customizing it to make it work for you.

This month, Wednesdays are dedicated to recipes from the cookbook Smitten Kitchen Everyday by Deb Perelman. Her website, smittenkitchen.com, is full of approachable, delicious ideas, and I picked several of her recipes to feature on Wednesdays throughout September.
Here are the rest of the themes for this month:
- Mondays: we’re on a roll
- Tuesdays: here fishy, fishy
- Wednesdays: cookbook — Smitten Kitchen Everyday by Deb Perelman
- Thursdays: lotsa pasta
- Fridays: around the world
A few updates from Simple Gray T-Shirt
- There are now 60 posts on the blog. I’m aiming for 100 by year-end — send good vibes!
- I’m posting the weekly menu on Instagram every Sunday. Follow along to see the plan for the week.
- I’m considering printing simple gray t-shirts. Would you buy one? If so, how much would you pay?
Curious about the gray tee that inspired the blog’s name? It’s the Moosejaw shirt that started it all — a comfy staple for fall wardrobes.
