Why Use Soup Cans?
Soup cans are economical, widely available, and a convenient size for floral arrangements. You likely have several empty cans in your pantry already, making them an excellent choice for quick centerpieces. Any size tin can works well—mixing sizes creates visual interest. For my arrangement I used two larger vegetable cans at the back and a smaller soup can in front.
If you don’t have cans on hand, the same technique works with small vases, jars, or cups. Simply substitute the container and follow the same steps to create a similar look.

How to Prepare Your Tin Cans
Before assembling the centerpieces, prepare the cans so they are clean and safe to use. Remove all food contents and peel the label away by finding the seam and tearing from there. Some paper and glue may remain; remove as much as possible. A little glue residue is fine since the cans will be covered with burlap.
Wash the inside and outside of each can with warm, soapy water to remove any food residue and reduce the risk of mold. Rinse and dry the cans thoroughly before decorating.

Supplies:
- Clean tin cans (various sizes if desired)

Instructions:
- Place each tin can on a square of burlap to measure how much you need to wrap around it.

- Tie a neat bow around the front of each can using red ribbon to add a festive accent.

- Arrange the Christmas floral picks and berry stems inside the cans. Trim stems as needed so the arrangement looks balanced and full.
