This cold-weather inspired apple and pear white sangria is gently spiced with cinnamon to celebrate the season. With just a few simple ingredients, it’s quick to prepare and easy to double or triple for a party.

I enjoy seasonal cocktails that highlight fresh fruit. This spiced apple and pear white sangria combines sweet apples and pears with white wine, pear liqueur, fresh apple cider and a splash of ginger beer for brightness. It’s a cozy, festive choice for fall and winter gatherings.
Ingredients
Gather the following items to make this apple and pear sangria.

- White wine – A crisp, dry white like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc works well.
- Apples – Use a sweet, crunchy variety you like; Honeycrisp or Gala are great choices.
- Pears – Bosc or Bartlett hold up nicely and add a sweet, delicate flavor.
- Pear liqueur – Adds pear aroma and depth; use a quality pear liqueur if possible.
- Apple cider – Enhances apple flavor and adds natural sweetness.
- Ginger beer – Brings a little spice and fizz; ginger ale can be used instead for a milder ginger note.
- Cinnamon sticks – Provide warm, seasonal spice as the sangria marinates.

Substitutions and variations
This sangria adapts easily to what you have on hand. Small swaps change the profile while keeping the same cozy character.
- Swap the white wine for a sparkling wine like Prosecco or for a dry apple cider for more apple flavor and bubbles.
- Use apple juice instead of apple cider for a lighter, less robust apple taste.
- If you don’t have pear liqueur, try a quality orange liqueur (such as triple sec or Grand Marnier) or a small amount of apple or pear brandy.
Equipment
No special tools required — just a pitcher and a spoon for stirring. Make sure the pitcher holds at least one liter if you’re following the recipe amounts below.

Storage
You can make this sangria ahead of time and refrigerate it until serving. It improves as it rests because the fruit flavors infuse the wine. I recommend preparing it 4–6 hours before serving; it will keep in a covered pitcher for up to 48 hours.
💡Top tip
For a pretty presentation, thinly slice a pear lengthwise (leave the stem intact) and line the inside of each glass with a slice before pouring. It makes the drink look elegant and seasonal.
FAQ
Yes. This sangria benefits from resting time so the fruit can infuse the wine — making it ahead is ideal for entertaining.
Allow 4–6 hours for the best flavor, though you can prepare it up to 24 hours in advance if needed.
It’s a matter of preference. Keeping apple skins adds color and texture, while peeling pears creates a cleaner look. If leaving skins on, wash the fruit thoroughly.
