Last night I made treats.
Lots of them.
Loads of delicious little bites.
These are Chocolate Peanut Butter Babies—soft, chocolatey truffles with a rich peanut butter center.
Originally I made a batch as a Christmas gift for a friend on a gluten-free diet. Once I started rolling the truffles, though, I couldn’t stop. Now almost everyone I know will be receiving chocolate peanut butter babies for Christmas!
To add color and variety I also made a few batches of another type of truffle.
For anyone who needs a nut-free option, I made Girl-Scout–style cookie truffles. They’re simple to prepare and ship well, which makes them excellent last-minute gifts.

Have you finished your holiday shopping? Last week my roommate and I hit the mall to try and find presents for everyone, only to discover the same items repeated at every store. How many bottles of hand sanitizer or lotion does one person really need?
Frustrated, I decided to make gifts this year. My roommate eventually abandoned the mall, too, choosing to shop online instead. Be careful on big retail sites—it’s easy to spend a lot more than you intended.
