Hi there! How is your Thanksgiving planning coming along? Have you made your Cranberry Agua Fresca yet?
If not, don’t worry—it’s simple and worth adding to your holiday menu.

Let’s Make Cranberry Agua Fresca
This refreshing drink is naturally festive and perfect for kids, non-drinkers, and expectant guests. It’s essentially homemade cranberry juice, brightened with lime and mint—easy to make and delightful to serve.
Basic steps:
- Combine fresh cranberries and water in a pot. Simmer until the berries burst and release their juice. If you have time, let the mixture rest overnight for deeper flavor.
- Strain out the solids, stir in sugar to taste, chill, and you’re done.

Make Decorative Ice Cubes
Decorative ice cubes do two things: they look beautiful and they infuse the drink with fresh flavor as they melt. Prepare them ahead so they can start to soften slightly in the pitcher before guests arrive.
How to make them:
- Thinly slice limes—key limes work best, but regular limes are fine (cut in half if needed to fit the mold).
- Place lime slices and mint leaves into muffin tin wells or large ice molds, fill with water, and freeze until solid.
- To use, loosen the cubes by running the bottoms of the tin briefly under warm water, then pop them into the pitcher.

Add Sparkle
For a sparkling version, fill glasses about two-thirds with chilled cranberry agua fresca and top with sparkling mineral water. It brightens the flavor and adds a celebratory fizz.
Use your preferred sparkling water—any brand will work.

Optional: Spike It
The agua fresca also makes a great cocktail base. A few simple options:
- Shake with 2 ounces vodka and a squeeze of lime.
- Serve over ice with a shot of gin and a sprig of thyme.
- Make a Holiday Mule by adding vodka and a splash of ginger beer.
Easy, festive, and versatile—perfect for a Thanksgiving gathering.
