Hello everyone — I’m glad to be back after a few months away. It’s been a difficult period following a close family bereavement, and I appreciate your patience while I took time to grieve and regroup. I’ve missed working on the site and sharing recipes, and now that I’m ready to return I wanted to kick things off with a seasonal collection: my ten favourite gluten-free and dairy-free slow cooker recipes. These dishes are ideal for cooler weather, offering comforting flavours with minimal fuss.
Over the months I’ve tested and refined these recipes to be reliably tasty while keeping them free from gluten and dairy. The slow cooker is fantastic for developing deep flavours and tender textures without standing over the stove, and these recipes work well for families, batch cooking, or busy weeknights. Where possible I’ve suggested simple swaps and kept ingredient lists straightforward so you can adapt each dish to what you have on hand.
If you’d like to see a gluten-free or dairy-free version of a particular favourite — whether it’s a classic curry, a comforting casserole, or a holiday roast — please tell me in the comments or send a message. I’m always looking for new ideas to develop and test. Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy these slow cooker favourites as much as we do at home.

Each recipe linked above includes step-by-step instructions, ingredient notes, and tips for making the dish fully gluten- and dairy-free. Many of these meals freeze well, so if you like to batch cook you can halve the effort and double the convenience. For quick weeknight service, I recommend preparing any sauces or spice mixes the night before and simply adding them to the slow cooker in the morning.
A few practical tips to get the best results from your slow cooker: brown meat quickly in a hot pan before adding it to the cooker for extra flavour, avoid overfilling the pot (leave space for steam circulation), and check doneness toward the end of the cooking time to prevent overcooking more delicate ingredients. If you’d like, I can add a companion post with batch-cooking schedules, shopping lists, or suggestions for sides and gluten-free wraps to serve with these recipes.
I’m looking forward to sharing more free-from recipes and seasonal ideas on the blog. Your feedback helps shape what I cook next, so please get in touch with requests, questions, or photos if you try any of these dishes. Warm wishes and happy slow cooking.
