You will love these oven-baked sweet potato fries served with a cinnamon yogurt dip. They work perfectly as a snack, side dish, or even a light dessert.

We had a relaxed weekend—Friday was already a long weekend for us since my husband gets every second Friday off. We spent Saturday shopping out of town, but most of our time was at home working in the yard. I managed to completely weed one long garden bed beside the house. I was too embarrassed to take a “before” photo, but once the flowers fill in I’ll share an update. I’m thinking of branching out into posting some non-food content here, too. For now I just have to keep the garden bed from filling back in with grass. While I dug and cleared weeds, the kids played outside: my son spent some time next door in the neighbor’s sandbox and my daughter figured out how to go down her toddler slide by herself. It was a wonderfully full weekend.
Thankfully I made time to bake these fries—my daughter devoured them. She usually eats slowly, but she kept coming back for more between rounds of outdoor play. Clearly all that activity had worked up an appetite. And these fries are hard to resist.

Pumpkin Pie Spice Sweet Potato Fries
Erin Dooner
Ingredients
- 1 sweet potato, yam, or orange-fleshed potato, cut into thin fries
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large egg white
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
For the dip:
- 1/2 cup plain Greek or regular yogurt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Sweetener to taste(vanilla stevia or honey both work well)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
-
Trim the ends of the sweet potato and slice it lengthwise into thin slabs. Cut each slab into thin fry-shaped sticks. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Whisk together the olive oil, egg white, pumpkin pie spice, and sugar (if using) until slightly foamy. Pour the mixture over the fries and toss to coat evenly. Arrange the fries in a single layer on the prepared sheet.
-
Bake for about 40 minutes or until they reach your desired level of crispness, turning once if needed. While the fries bake, mix the yogurt dip by stirring together yogurt, cinnamon, vanilla, and sweetener to taste.
-
Serve the fries hot with the cinnamon yogurt dip immediately.
