Pixy Stix Lip Gloss
My daughter and I love lip gloss. We especially enjoy making DIY lip gloss because it turns out soft, shiny, and nourishing. Homemade gloss uses gentle ingredients that soothe and protect lips, and today we’re sharing a simple way to add a pop of color and flavor using Pixy Stix candy. This quick project gives you a cute, tinted gloss that smells and tastes lightly sweet—perfect for a fun craft session with kids or a simple beauty DIY.

Pixy Stix Lip Gloss
Adding Pixy Stix to a basic lip gloss base is an easy way to tint and lightly flavor your gloss without complicated ingredients. The color payoff is subtle and customizable—use one stick for a faint tint or two for a slightly deeper hue. Below are the supplies, step-by-step instructions, and a few tips to make your gloss smooth, shiny, and moisturizing.

Supplies for Pixy Stix Lip Gloss:
- 1–2 red Pixy Stix (adjust for desired tint and flavor)
- Small microwave-safe bowl
- Plastic spoon
- Aquaphor or another petroleum-jelly-based ointment (travel size is fine)
- Empty lip gloss container
- Plastic pipet for transferring the melted gloss into tubes
Directions:
- Place about a tablespoon of Aquaphor into a small microwave-safe bowl. Adjust the amount to match the size of your lip gloss container.
- Warm the Aquaphor in the microwave in 15–30 second intervals, stirring between intervals, until it becomes liquid. Be careful—the bowl can get hot.
- Add 1–2 red Pixy Stix to the melted Aquaphor. Start with one and add more if you want a stronger tint or flavor. Stir until the candy dissolves and the mixture is even.
- If needed, heat briefly again (about 15–30 seconds) to ensure the mixture is fully liquid and well combined.
- Use a plastic pipet to transfer the melted mixture into your empty lip gloss tube. Allow it to cool and solidify before capping.
- Enjoy your homemade Pixy Stix lip gloss.

Why use Aquaphor? Aquaphor is highly moisturizing and helps smooth and heal dry, rough skin. When used as a lip gloss base, it provides shine, helps plump and hydrate lips, and soothes dry patches. The result is glossy, soft lips with a hint of candy scent and color from the Pixy Stix.
