I love Mexican food—truly! On a recent trip to Roanoke to visit Chocolatepaper, we followed Liz’s lunch recommendation and tried Alejandro’s Mexican Grill at 127 Campbell Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24011, just steps from the market. I enjoyed it a lot. The music felt authentic—more like the songs I heard walking the streets of downtown Cancún rather than the stereotypical cheesy playlists many restaurants use. The atmosphere and flavors made me feel like I was sitting in a Mexican street-side bar.
I usually order the same thing at Mexican restaurants: enchiladas with rice and cheese dip. This time, since I was writing a review, I decided to try something different—so I ordered the fried fish taco.
At $2.99 it was an easy decision—if I didn’t like it, I wasn’t out much. When the chips arrived, I dug in right away, and of course I had to try the cheese dip.
