Alright — it’s about time I shared my Trader Joe’s grocery list!
As a registered dietitian, I love Trader Joe’s for its variety of high-quality, affordable groceries that make it easy to create nourishing and delicious meals and snacks.

I don’t shop there every week—mostly because of distance—so when I go I stock up on my favorites. Below are the items I reach for nearly every time I visit Trader Joe’s. From fresh produce to frozen shortcuts, pantry staples, and a few treats, this list covers ingredients for quick weeknight meals, flavorful condiments and snacks.

PRODUCE
This is where I spend most of my time at any grocery store. I stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables for snacking and building meals for the week.

Berries
Berries are loaded with antioxidants and vitamins—great for snacking, smoothies, and salads.

Baby Spinach
I always keep a bag of spinach in the fridge. It’s versatile—use it in salads, smoothies, or sautéed with other vegetables.

Arugula
Arugula brings a peppery bite to sandwiches, wraps, salads, and pasta. It’s an easy way to boost flavor and nutrition.

Cauliflower of Many Colors
Tri-color cauliflower looks beautiful roasted and tastes much like regular cauliflower—great for colorful sheet-pan veggies.

Les Petites Carrots
These peeled, multicolored carrots are convenient and perfect for snacking.

Green Beans
Trimmed and ready to cook—air-fry or roast them with a seasoning blend for an easy side.

Broccoli Florets
Fiber- and vitamin-rich, broccoli florets work well in stir-fries, roasted medleys, or steamed as a side.

Microgreens
Microgreens are nutrient-dense and add fresh flavor and visual appeal to salads, sandwiches, and bowls.

Limes
Fresh lemons and limes brighten dishes—sometimes a squeeze of citrus fixes a dish instantly.

Bell Peppers
Colorful and crunchy, bell peppers add vitamin C and versatility—enjoy them raw, roasted, or sautéed.
Tomatoes on the Vine
When out-of-season tomatoes are lackluster, cherry tomatoes on the vine are a flavorful substitute for salads and snacking.

Avocados
Avocados are a daily staple for me—creamy, rich in healthy fats, and useful on toast, in dressings, or sliced over bowls.

Steamed Lentils
Pre-steamed lentils in the produce section are a quick plant-based protein and fiber boost—an excellent shortcut.

No added sugar cranberries are a convenient snack and a favorite oatmeal add-in for my kids.

A tangy-sweet spread I add to overnight oats, pastries, or pancakes for bright citrus flavor.

Nutritional Yeast
Use nutritional yeast for a cheesy umami flavor in dressings, vegan “queso,” popcorn, and roasted vegetables. It adds B vitamins and protein too.

Coconut Cream
Coconut cream is a rich dairy-free option for curries, smoothies, and desserts—Trader Joe’s often has a good price on it.

Julienned Sun-Dried Tomatoes
Thinly sliced sun-dried tomatoes are easy to toss into pasta, salads, or antipasto boards.

Organic Oven Roasted Turkey Breast
A go-to for quick sandwiches topped with arugula, microgreens, avocado, and Dijon.
Unexpected Cheddar Cheese
Sharp, tangy, and addictive—excellent on cheese boards or grated into dishes.

Feta Cheese
Always buy the block if you can—the texture and flavor are better than pre-crumbled. Great for salads and my favorite fried feta bowls.

Marinated Mozzarella Balls
Herby and oil-soaked, they’re perfect for pasta salads or a quick snack.
